  • Pilates is an ideal movement method for everyone. JET pilates is a movement method for women. Every movement we instruct you to do has a modification and can be scaled to suit your limitations, should you have any. Pilates is the intentional practice and dedication to living according to the discipline created by Joseph Pilates. The commitment to learning your body and the way it moves in space, inspires one to move more beautifully and intentionally. It inspires us to seek real health.

    The result naturally changes all other experiences the body has with the environment around it. Every human interaction. Every act. Every demand in this lifetime in your body can and should be performed beautifully with intention. Movement truly connects us to our higher selves. In order to perform the work in the way that it was intended and to reap the benefits (aka promises) associated with the Pilates method, a certain student like interest develops naturally. Your education has begun. You are a student of pilates. With practice, our lessons will make you an expert pilates too.

  • We recommend asking your doctor for clearance if beginning pilates post injury. Sometimes, even years after an injury we suffer with consequences of poor healing. This resulted in inadequate movement patterns and we developed imbalances and muscle issues that inadvertently hurt us more. Maybe you watched our videos and you think … I can’t do this. Don’t worry, Our workouts can be taken up a notch or down a notch. We can customize the right amount of assist. The point of a pilates apparatus is to get you to feel the exercise the way it was intended. Often we think we can’t begin physical work because we watch the master and think that level is impossible to achieve, but, if we watch the beginner we can see how easy it is to begin ourselves. Movement, can and should be dissected and broken down for understanding but also for achieving. If you feel pain or you lack confidence while moving, don’t worry. We can begin at the beginning.   • Congrats on your motherhood journey. Pilates is a terrific way to begin a bonding experience with your baby. Pilates is intentionally geared to connect and strengthen your relationship with your pelvic floor and your entire body. You will become aware of your body and the way it moves in space. Because your body is changing, your proprioception or self awareness while moving, naturally shifts. We recommend attaining the clearance appropriate for beginning a movement method.   • We hope so. Sweating is a sign of a healthy metabolic system. It’s what should happen when your body performs vigorous and or exaggerated movement patterns. If you don’t sweat, we work with women to identify signs of metabolic dysfunction so we can achieve better health.

    Plan on a nice glow up after a JET Pilates class. Part of our unique method is the incorporation of movement to inspire hormonal balance or detoxification. We want you to achieve and maintain hormone harmony by incorporating all of the elements of a healthy movement practice.
